Our collections are designed to inspire adventure, community, and purpose. Beyond the products we create, we are committed to investing in projects that leave a lasting impact on the people and places around us.
The Mission
Access to clean drinking water changes everything.
This summer, ASB partnered with BlinkNow, Operation Smile, and Waves For Water to help bring clean water education and filtration systems to families in Surkhet, Nepal.
What began as a student-led fundraiser has grown into something much larger: a community-driven initiative focused on education, sustainability, and long-term impact.
The Partnership
The project brought together three organizations with one shared goal.
BlinkNow provides free, high-quality education through Kopila Valley School for children facing extraordinary challenges.
Operation Smile empowers student leaders to create meaningful change within their own communities.
Waves For Water supplies portable filtration systems capable of providing safe drinking water for families who need it most.
Together, these organizations created an opportunity for local students to become educators, advocates, and leaders.
Community First
Rather than simply delivering water filters, we worked alongside local health officials and teachers to identify families with the greatest need.
Student leaders from the Kopila Valley Operation Smile Club received hands-on training covering:
• Clean water education
• Waterborne disease prevention
• Filter installation
• Long-term maintenance
Those same students now lead home visits throughout their community—sharing knowledge, demonstrating proper filter use, and providing families with sustainable access to clean drinking water.
Built To Last
The impact doesn't end when we leave.
While several filtration systems were installed together during our time in Nepal, the remaining filters have been entrusted to the local student leadership team.
They will continue visiting homes, teaching workshops, and expanding access to clean water long after our trip has ended.
Our goal has never been to complete a project.
Our goal is to help build one that continues without us.
Why It Matters
True impact isn't measured by the number of filters distributed.
It's measured by the people empowered to continue the work.
When local students become educators, neighbors become advocates, and families gain lasting access to clean water, the impact extends far beyond a single visit.
That is the kind of change we hope to support.
